China is one of Nigeria’s major trading partners as most small and large scale entrepreneurs depend on general imports from the country to thrive.

With the lock-down experienced in some parts of China, there are concerns that Nigeria’s economy could be affected since imports have stopped coming in due to the pandemic.

On Monday, the International Monetary Fund lowered its economic growth forecast for the country from 2.5 to 2% citing falling oil prices.
Looking beyond the barrel, Gist Nigeria visits a few markets, including the popular Chinatown in Lagos to find out how the fear of coronavirus has affected business.
